Abstract. Wahdina, Setiadi D, Purwanto Y, Qayim I. 2021. Natural dye plants used by Dayak Iban in Sungai Utik, Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 22: 1397-1404. indigenous people Indonesia are considered an important and unique gene pool, especially Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo), known to have high biodiversity endemicity. Hulu District, Province, a culturally group, recognized their customary forest harmonious living with nature. One of the traditional knowledge practiced this group is use for along time make woven fabric various plaiting handicrafts. This study aims investigate types natural how local them traditionally. Information about utilization process was obtained through in-depth interview methods. We also identified color produced plants. There were 15 plant species as Utik Village. The yarn dyeing material white, red, black colors only used. most engkerebai kayoh (Psychotria malayana) red rengat kikat (Clerodendrum laevifolium) color. coloring includes oiling, tying, measuring, dyeing, drying, followed weaving process. obtain they keep forests highly valuable treasure.
